The orientation was shot this way, just cropped the top a bit and applied some noise reduction. Well I'm not particulary happy with this version but thought I'd post it anyway. I'll definitely try to reshoot tommorow. Me and a friend had this whole thing up setup in the kitchen(background, tripod, lights), knowing that the rest of the team will be home soon, and stomp right in. So we didn't get a chance to shoot enough shots. Yeah that and the model couldn't hold still :)

Thanks guys. Appreciate you leaving those comments. I'm very glad you find this shot appealing as it is. I wasn't sure how not having all the facial features sharp enough would be looked upon. The up the nose look, well I couldn't have it too sharp that I knew. I wanted the whole pic to come out completey tack sharp out of camera, I had to apply some extra sharpening to the strawberry at the end.

And yep I did use a shallow DOF (F/4 at iso400 if I remember correctly, Im at another PC at the moment) to blur the background. I didn't have a perfectly seemless one.

It would be fun to try a reshoot of this shot and try some new ideas I have.

Thanks again,

-Techo :)

Lovely, nice simple and flowing lines, fun composition, great color, it's all about red. I'll stand with Traveller in that I think there's little to be gained by a reshoot. While there's no exif to tell me for sure, it looks like a wide aperature and shallow DOF were used. The closest part of the strawberry is bang on focus and sharp, and I think that's the primary focus of this shot. If you achieve a sharper focus on the model I'm not sure it would be desired or even flattereing. Elegant as is, IMHO. -Michael

Techo, I really like this. It is reminiscent of my grape shot from the last challenge but with much better execution and post-processing (of course my was shot on the fly and then rotated in PS). I also really like the title. I suppose a re-shoot is possible, but frankly I don't see how this could be done better...but it would be interesting to see if I were wrong and you Could do it better...that would be an educuation. Best Wishes, Traveller
