Cowboy on a Cellphone? *

Long Island NY

Yeah, I know the tree is going to be a bit annoying to some people... I had to take the shot when the opportunity was there, and I thought it would be fun for the challenge. I love the dicotemy of being out in the country and seeing this guy yabber on his cellphone.

He was a real nice guy, and I actually e-mailed him a bunch of pictures of him and his horse :)

It is an interesting and telling capture of our modern world. Nice horse too - he was curious about what the heck you were doing lurking in the brush. He might even be a stallion by the look of his neck/head. I once stopped to take a pic of a very decrepit and falling down house with a big satellite dish attached to the side . . .but I saw somebody looking out the window and got self conscious and didn't shoot it. I think a whole gallery could be made if one hunted for shots of ironic or strange combinations of modernity and history. Nice capture, Cindy

Amy,

I think the branch sits well, it adds to the depth of the woodland and the candid nature of the shot. I dont find it distrancting. Love the fact the horse is looking straight to the lens!

Only thing is the title, purhaps 'In Between' - '19th and 20th Century'
