Beautiful details and the composition certainly gives a feeling of flight.

Thanks everyone. I don't have a patent on dendelions! I would love to see other interpretations on this theme so go for it.

Susan, this is shot with a MP65E macro lens at 1x with a 24EX ringlight on a tripod. I brought the dendelion indoor -evver soooo carefully. I started by working the dendelion as a whole and got quite a few shots I like (you can see 6 of the best ones from the entire session in my gallery www.pbase.com/yonili the 6 from "Wind Currents" to "Mission Colonize"-in fact the unidentified spider preceeding the set was also found in this dendelion-good session I would say!). Once I got what I wanted from the whole I started gently liberating seeds to image them as in this shot. As to how to you frame and focus precisely on the individual seeds-I will give you a clue, the answer is simpler than one would think. A little experimentation would reveal an effective approach :-).

I really like this one too. I found some dandilions, but didn't quite get the "flight theme. This one is very well done. -Byron

Lovely shot, like Olaf, I have been wanting to take this shot too but couldn't find any dandelions around. Very nicely done.

Shoot - you beat me to it!

This was one of my ideas, that I actually planned on doing. Was debating with myself what to entitle it. Thought of "precious load", "airborn", "on to new territory", "multiplying flight" and a bunch of other titles I don't remember right now. "Mission Colonize" is a good title too! The seed I was planning on shooting had those feathery things all the way around, like a ball. I don't have a macro lens but the seeds are almost 2 inches in diameter. Would have had more empty space and the main seed off centered in a horizontal shot with backlit green OOF leaves and sky in the background, inspired by Angelas flying butterfly, which has a layered background. Thought I might be doing it as a studio-shot, using a print for the background. as it is too windy outside!

OK, enough about what I had planned on doing and on to your shot: Nice and simple, good composition, I like the inclusion of the OOF seed. Nice presentation as well. Well done!
