I tried to frame this shot so that the base of the bridge is horizontaly aligned to the bottom. It was a sunny day in the bay area, that means you can see low hanging clouds rushing across the Golden Gate Bridge. I like how the shadow of the bridge is strong at the begining and how it blends and disappears at the end. It would have been much better if that column was well lit.

- Comments, critiques welcome. Thanks, Karthik.

Hi Karthik - I looked through your conversations below, and noticed the unprocessed "RAW" conversion. I kinda like the colors of the foreground in that one a bit better (less yellow). FWIW, I think the composition is just fine. -Ed Hahn

Yup, I like this one, it's the first so far that doesn't feel "wrong", clearly having the bridge very nearly horizontal helps on that score. Phil

I know the California sun is bright - and I know this is pretty much what it looks like in reality, but still would prefer some curves adjustment to make the photograph darker and slightly more saturated [had it been a slide, I would say “denser"]. I agree about the disappearing shadow. Also, I think I would have preferred the "tower" a little further to the left in the image (more on the right, less on the left side of the photo). Still, well done! --Olaf

Terrific. Some (e.g. me) will struggle finding a composition that does not seem contrived to meet the Challenge mandate. You hit nail on head with this. Wonderful subject and perspective, and the angle contributes great interest. Very well done. --Joe

Although I have seen images like this many times you have given it a new twist (pun intended) Very well done.

Yes! This is very well composed. The roadway being parallel to the bottom edge keeps some stability. I love the tension of this, that the bridge looks ready to topple! This is so much better than the standard ho-hum-there's-that-bridge-again shot. Being a New Yorker, the Golden Gate Bridge is not such a big thrill to me. Big bridges are a dime a dozen here. THIS shot is special. It's the first time I've seen this bridge and not just said, "Yeah, nice shot." without much enthusiasm. This is very much in the spirit of the challenge. This is the kind of angled shot that excites me. Great job!!! ~ Lonnit
