Luminous Gloom*
by Todd Moon

Rochester, NY

I've driven past this building at night so many times. I finally had my camera and I pulled into the parking lot to take some pictures. The lights are so close to the wall that the texture of the bricks creates very nice patterns. It was raining out so I sat in my car with the window rolled down. I think the wet ground helps the image.

Todd, forget my previous comment. I downloaded your image and tried it - was no improvement! --Olaf.dk

Not sure that having that second light in there adds anything. I think a crop of just the left triangle of light, allowing for a more close-up view, would be more effective. I would crop just to the right of the base of the triangle, in effect making the shot a vertical one instead. --Olaf

Good job on this, the textured walls really create a cool feel to it...makes me think of a jail cell in Europe. (Not that I have any first hand experience with that- haha).

Nicely done.

Well seen. I love the look of walls when the light is coming in almost parallel to it. -Ed Hahn
