Thanks Penny! The background is a frozen lake and the darker blotches that look like sensor dirt are rocks and things people have thrown on the ice (to test its strength?). After a mild winter, when we were hoping for Spring, the real winter weather came at the very end of february. This, in part, explains the title.
I know I left a comment before but it seems to have disappeared. I really like the sense of scale you've created. The color and compostition are great too.
