Seeing this fellow reminded me of Aesop's Fable 'The Grasshopper and the Ant'.

It was one of those beautiful late summer days here today -- warm yet, but with a hint of that 'something' in the air, a sort of crispness, that reminds one that summer doesn't last forever.
This guy actually gave me a start as I came stalking around the standing seed heads of Queen Anne's Lace.

It was a kind of stormy periwinkle color -- just off the normal 'sky blue'.

It's not varnished in the picture, but I've just now finished putting on the first coat.
I really liked this Pincushion Flower, but in the end I was bugged by the flower just to the left. I felt it unbalanced the picture.
Now, I know I could Photoshop it out, but today the grasshopper holds sway, and that spells L-A-Z-Y.
