Chris Gales and his girlfriend, Kim, found an large, damp wooded area filled with these and other gems emerging from the forest floor. Clavaria fusiformis (Clavulinopsis fusiformis)is a thin, flattened, pointed, brittle, bright sun-yellow club that grows in clumps. These were between 3 and 6 inches or so in height. The larger spindles were hollow.
