14 MAR 04

NOT A SUNRISE

A few minutes before five this morning we were awakened by crackling noises and voices
There was an orange glow filling the room from the back of the house
Peering out the window through the blinds, we saw this
Within seconds A large firetruck with several police vehicles were there
Large fire hoses that rain water down forcibly from high atop one of those extended ladders makes an incredible amount of noise.
About two hours later all was under control
The little pointie-shootie camera was only interested in focusing on the window screen, thus the fuzziness which adds to the chagrin

Yikes! The screen definitely adds to the realism here. Dare I say without the obstruction, it would just be your everyday picture of a fire. ;) Hope everything turned out all right...scary, indeed.

Mark is right... it does look like a tv shot from the thumbnail. Hope everyone was ok.

Pulitzer can keep his prize . .I like safe distances . . .Like maybe Connecticut (since this is in VA . . .) HA!

You'll never win a Pulitzer unless you go out there and catch the mayhem close up !!! :)

I thought it was a fire from the thumbnail, but the fuzziness made me think it was a shot of the TV news. Now I see you shot through a screen window. Looks like a big fire.

Looks it was a big fire. Hope everyone was ok. A strong photo you captured here.

Excellent shot, I hope everything is well now.

Another really strong photo. You're spoiling us...

Beautiful and frightening image. I'm glad they got it under control quickly. Being evacuated through the wildfires we had in San Diego last fall was the most terrifying moment of my life (not so terrifying that I didn't snap a couple of pics of course LOL).

OMG I hope everyone was ok!!! Fires are so scary!! I remember when I was little and learning about them in school, I was deathly terrified everynight when I went to bed that we'd have a fire. This is such a powerful shot.

powerful image in its own way.
