November 23 2006:
Thanks for the Music

Being a Brit, I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, and having no family I had to think of something different for this weeks challenge.

I can’t play a note, but I love listening to music. My radio and CD player give me so much pleasure and the TV really does take a back seat.

I always like to ‘hold’ my music; I still haven’t got to terms with downoads.

love the shot, love the sentiment
shatterbug24-Nov-2006 21:05
And the music industry is thankful that you buy your music :-) Great shot!
Bill Ewart Jr24-Nov-2006 20:36
and you're very welcome~!

Hey, thanks for sharing with us your consistently artistic vision!!!
JW24-Nov-2006 19:02
Good call, my friend! (as Steve Harley would say)

A perfect simplicity that tells much. Yes, a big thanks for the music as I'd be soulless without it! And thanks for "holding" it. Have a beautiful weekend!
Bryan Ramsay24-Nov-2006 15:03
Yes, where would we be without the music? Great shot and theme. -BJ

I think music is only real in 'the original cover/box' (dunno how to explain). Downloads are not really real. I have the same thing with magazines, I want to be the one to open it the first time. Smell the paper etc.
Kiss,
Lilith

Interesting that they thank you for buying. How will they thank us if we download?
Dave Wixx24-Nov-2006 02:07
Cool shot, excellent simplicity.
Linda Willets24-Nov-2006 01:37
Yes, we need music for our souls.. very nice photo

Well spotted Ray - that's very small writing!
And being without the CD has made me wonder what life would be like without music.

Great shot. Yes, there are so many wonderful things to be thankful for in our daily life...
Guest 23-Nov-2006 23:56
Thinking a John Miles rendition maybe appropriate, you got this challenge taped Ray, well done !
Dan Chusid23-Nov-2006 23:25
Would you mind holding my tuba while I post this comment Ray?
Thanks!
:^))
nordic23-Nov-2006 23:11
Can't imagine how you could hold your downloads!! ;-)
Keep rocking Ray....
laine8223-Nov-2006 22:37
So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

Abba said it for me.....

( pbase seems to be broken, I'm way behind )
Guest 23-Nov-2006 21:53
It took me a second to recognize what this is. Great shot, Ray.
Sheila23-Nov-2006 21:42

Great idea.
chrisse23-Nov-2006 21:08
Great approach of the theme, and I'm with you too on "holding your music".

Fine idea, Ray. Had the same first, because of the great influence of music within my life. Well, and you should try some downloads too, it may bring back some almost forgotten tunes.
Carole Stevens23-Nov-2006 20:21
Great idea Ray nice change from the rest!
Ian York23-Nov-2006 20:10
I like the capture here. You seemed to have mastered digital images, so the next steps could be digital music.....
Stu23-Nov-2006 19:26
I like the angle you chose...nice detail of something that gets looked at so often but 'not looked at' (if you see what I mean).
joanteno23-Nov-2006 19:25
Excellent shot.. and thanks for reposting the links on the forum..
Bill Warren23-Nov-2006 19:17
Strong composition as usual Ray. The light black photo background to full black border strengthens the overall effect.
JSWaters23-Nov-2006 18:31
Well, if you were anywhere close Ray I'd tell you to get you and your music over here and join us for whole shebang - even if you don't celebrate!

royalld23-Nov-2006 18:06
I have not become accustom to downloading music, either.
Maybe sometime soon.
I, too, am very thankful for music.
Lee Rudd23-Nov-2006 18:04

Zak23-Nov-2006 17:58
