Got a wonderful e-mail last night from a Canadian friend of mine. Well, more of a relation really as her husband and I share the same great grandfather.

She e-mailed me a number of photographs of our family from times gone by, including this one of my Great Aunt Carrie, who emigrated to Canada in the 1920’s. It was my first ‘sight’ of her. I have been doing genealogy for a couple of years now, and often wonder what it would be like to reach out and talk to these people.

I really treasure such photographs.
