Went over to the Royal Holloway College in Virginia Water this afternoon. It is the most beautiful building, being Grade 1 listed.
The main college building, known as the Founder's, was designed by William Henry Crossland and inspired by the Chateau of Chambord in the Loire Valley, and it was opened by Queen Victoria in 1886.
The college was unusual in that it only admitted women, something that was not changed until 1965, following a specific Act of Parliament.
