OK, I've made this monochrome via the Channel Mixer and turned up the contrast, but the shape is just the same!

Answer next Saturday.

That's a no-poser. Of course it's ginger root.

Definitely ginger root. I just picked some up yesterday...I'd know that woody texture and shape anywhere. Interesting that you made it black and white.
