OK, I've made this monochrome via the Channel Mixer and turned up the contrast, but the shape is just the same!

That's a no-poser. Of course it's ginger root. I use a lot of it, mostly for tea and hot chocolate at this time of year.

Definitely ginger root. I just picked some up yesterday...I'd know that woody texture and shape anywhere. Interesting that you made it black and white.
