16July06 The Rustling of a Cool Breeze - 12428

Japanese Maple in my backyard

Last Year's Photo

Photo a Day, 16 July 2006... I have this huge pile of Adobe books I keep telling myself I'll get through... some day... Just like I'll take my Photoshop Adobe Certified Expert Exam... some day... In a small accomplishment, I actually managed to complete the Adobe Classroom in a book for InDesign this afternoon... so decided to go out and NOT look for something to photograph. Instead I walked around with the camera at my eye and only looked at things through the camera. Doing this with the 100mm macro and a +4 Closeup lens made the world rather interesting... I especially loved the japanese maple tree leaves. Their color is sort of bla from the undersides a muddled mixure of greens and reds... so I simply changed the white balance in ACR to get the blues... I have some others including some photoshop variations on this on which I'll post later on but figured I should explain a bit...

Variations and Alternates:

ACR (changed white balance to get blues), some dodge/burn with masked layers, Framing, Resize, Sharpening - Photoshop CS2

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/80s f/5.6 at 100.0mm iso200 w/ +4 close up filter full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Really "cool"-looking blue. Great photoshop-work CJ.

Connie, a lot of work on this and the color and form are beautiful. The 'out of framing' works well!
