06Feb06 Warm Morning - 10028

Ledyard, CT

Photo a Day, Day 313...They have demolished one of my favorite old buildings in town - I found this old coal stove in the rubble... you can also see it in the wide angle shot below standing in the middle of what is left.. also a shot of when it was mostly whole back in October..

My Dad had one just like this when I was growing up. It brings back so many memories. By the way, I still have the stove it is in storage and it really is heavy as an elephant. Kathy

I love the old spring steel handles these things had. Nice job!

Duh. Read the artist's comments before you make your own Kimberley! I see now. Very cool.

Gorgeous lighting and detail. The DOF works great on this as well. What exactly is it though?

Very nice shot. Love the light and the strong shadow here. But what is meaning this warm morning? What is it?

Is it just me or does anyone else get a touch of sadness from this image?

I can nearly feel the texture of the metal from here!

I love the look of B/W photos! All photos that you have taken so far look very well suited in B/W... can't wait to see the rest of this months photos.

Great collection of images, all very well suited to B&W. Thank goodness the building did not get demolished in January or March :0).

Like the texture and lines!

No - I didn't cart it off... Actually the way they have been taking it down I'm wondering if they might be reconstructing it somewhere else - it isn't like they just took a buldozer to it... they have been taking it apart piece by piece...

Almost looks like a sculpture, like the strong light

I'm with Laine, hope it's roaring fire right now. It was probably heavy as an elephant tho.
Love the perspective on this.
