Photo a Day, Day 282...I noticed this drop of nectar on one of the gladioli in my bouquet right before I was getting ready to take my son to wrestling practice... Luckily we were getting ready early and he still didn't have his shoes on as I managed to squeeze off this shot of the sweet which attracts butterflies and hummingbirds to this flower... when it is in warmer climates...

It is hard to find the words to describe this photo...... It is "Awesome"
The colors are unreal. The details are amazing. You can even see the pollen. I'm still at a loss for just the right words to describe the amazement of details in this photo.

Karen, Flower Sex 101: then entire "thing" is called the stamen. The ball at the top is the anther & the stem part is called the filament ;~P Don't ask how I know, lol ~
