Photo a Day, Day 90...Hawaiian Monk Seal sunning itself on the rocks at the Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge. There are only 1300 Hawaiian Monk Seals left in the world. The Caribean Monk Seal is already extinct. They live solidary lifestyles and this female suns herself regularly on the rocks below the lookout. The closest you can get to her is about 200-300 yards.
