Agouti Hooded Male Rat crossed the Rainbow Bridge Jan. 8 2010 at the age of 2 years 4 months. Had a huge hole from an abscess that never closed, so was humanely euthanized with his huge brother Mellow who went into respiratory distress last night. Both were on antibiotics but when the quality of life it not great then the kindest thing to do is put them to sleep. Though he was eating well and fairly active, he was in some discomfort, always licking his side. His water consumption was large so may have been in early renal failure or a diabetic.
