Leftovers

This carcass was left on our front porch last night.
It appears to be the remains of a rabbit,
and I'm guessing a coyote enjoyed the meal.
Yes, those are maggots, so it wasn't exactly a fresh kill.
I buried it in a woodchuck hole in the back yard,
hoping it will persuade the occupant to move on.
Never a dull moment here. What will tomorrow bring?

The other title I considered was "The End". I suppose that's consistent with storytelling.

Now this has the makings of a fine story - so many details to discover.

We actually use our front door a lot. If this kill was fermenting, it wasn't doing it there. Funny thing, it didn't stink (not that I put my nose close to it). A result of the maggots doing their job?

We only get the paper delivered three days a week (it's available online the rest). It's a combined News/Free Press on Sundays. Love the comics and coupons.

I did hoot out loud at this! Well, there is a truth here and the picture is visual shorthand of that.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Maybe you hadn’t been out the front door recently and this tasty treat been fermenting for a few days...... or are you one that reads the Detroit News paper every morning with breakfast. Paul
