A sad story, indeed, Paul.

A good friend of mine did something similar about a year ago.

There has been an ongoing shortage of .22LR ammo. It's easing somewhat now. The strange thing about it is that no other types of ammo are hard to find at all.

For the purposes of such a photo, this gun works well because it's got a somewhat iconic look to it and will be recognized simply as a "gun" to most people.

It's probably only a few people who will see that silhouette and say "Oh. A Mark II!", and then think that it's an unlikely choice for a street thug to be using. On the other hand, they may be one of the most common handguns, really, so who knows?

For the photo it certainly is unloaded but I had no idea that there may be a shortage of 22LR. I've got plenty on hand and have not tried to purchase any lately since I never shoot it. I inherited it after my father passed away.

A interesting story about this particular hand gun is my dad bought it from his employer who was going to destroy it after his son bought it and used it to commit suicide. In reality I could have used a more appropriate saturday night special for the shot since I have one of those too. Paul

Instead of the Ruger I should have used a tire iron since now that I think about it I doubt muggers would have a long barrel Ruger. Paul.
