Kansas Gulls

Frisco Lake Olathe, KS

Here you go Trav, would you classify this a sea gull or not? They even have that same squeaky gull sound. Maybe I should have shot some video of them too.

I really like the action, back lighting, reflections and framing. I like the crackers too, but I can see cloning them out as well.

Lots of action here. Nice with the gulls interacting so much. Michael

Now this works real well. I like how the duck has beaten out the gulls for the food.

I like this picture so much...the ice, the action, the poses....I would suggest you clone out the crackers lower left and in between the center beak....obviously I have no problems ethically with enhancing with PS....because the truth of bird-ness is already there regardless. After a little research most likely these are ring billed gulls. They claim they are migratory but from my reccolation I see them all year long. Not to mention what dumb bird would want to migrate here to winter over, it's cold and as you can see the water is frozen over. When I shot this I'd guess it was about 4 inches thick. We have plenty of Canadian geese winter over here tho. Paul
