I dare entering these two I shot
last year for another cichallenge...

Thank you, davev, for commenting on my entries! As a matter of fact, I—for myself—also prefer this one to the other with the green hat. Most probably, though, I should have composed here «somewhat lower» (with the top of the hat close to the upper border of the picture and, OTOH, a tad more of the shirt visible within the frame); but as I didn't, I have little to play with if I want to maintain the image's height to width ratio. Nevertheless, you and K have suggested both the same change which is enough to convince me: please, do—both of you—let me know if this version now is more to your liking... ~ db.

PD. It is obviously not the same: when I shot the image, the portrait was all about the *hat*; but now and here, it's all about the *self*.

db, I like this shot more than your other shot.
It seems to have more ... style. The head tilt, the thinner glasses, the high key feel all seems to work better in this one.
But, I think it needs to cropped a bit tighter. More of your face, less of the hat.
