Life in a Black House
by Car629

In the Style of Photojournalism?
This is one I took while visiting Lewis, the islanders used to live in what are known as Black Houses. These houses more often than not were built into the side of a hill in the moorland using stones and peat from the surrounding area. This is one of the few remaining houses that is used today. Although Alistair does not live in it full time he uses it as in his words "A get a way from it all bolt hole".

Very well done, Car629: photojournalistic indeed, if I as a professional (word-)journalist may say so! ~ db.

It's a splendid capture. Leading towards photojournalism but If I had to be specific...
Editorial environmental portraiture. My favorite types of shot these days, something that tells a story. Nicely done.

Hay guys thanks for your lovely comments, I had to do quite a bit of work on it as it was not the best photograph sharpness wise, using the Sigma 10-20mm made the edges soft! Car629

This is a very good photo - a great B&W with a lot of character. It is almost too good to be a photojournalist type shot. Perhaps a B&W that a National Geographic would publish.
