Thanks Jim and Traveller. The 1/500 sec exposure time is a result of the grass being in full sunlight, just before sunset. The background is the shaded side of some trees. To avoid blowing out the grass, I used negative exposure compensation. The exif says 2/3 stop, but I think it was more than that. With the live histogram that is available in a mirrorless camera, it's pretty easy to set the exposure so the highlights are just short of clipping. Regards, Michael
