Thanks. The local ground is fairly muddy and damp. I had the camera right on the ground, resting on a small fallen branch. This worked out, as it allowed me to tilt the camera easily to change the angle of view.
I use a 60D which has the rotatable LCD on the back that allowed me to find the right focus point and framing.
I agree with the greens - I had to modify the wb tint in order to bring out the greens.
This is beautiful! I like that there is just enough green to keep the shot from being mired in the browns. Tell me, were you lying on the ground yourself, or did you just set the camera on or near the ground? The angle is perfect, as we get to look the mushroom right in the eyes.
