Thank you both. The camera was on a tripod, about 18 inches above the stove. I used the self-timer, and turned on the gas less than a second before the shot was taken, then immediately turned it off. I did not attempt a second shot, so I must admit I got lucky with this one. The principal PP effect came from the “poster edges” adjustment in Photoshop’s filter gallery.
