Thanks so much for all of your nice comments! I lucked out finding a building with traces of yellow paint in a gloriously warm sunset. I toned it a little too but this really isn't too far from what I saw that evening. Hey, Naj, I can't believe any place in England could look really dilapidated, from our perspective English towns just get more and more picturesque. But in the US when our buildings age they just look more and more junky. The sunset gave this building more dignity than it has in real life especially since it stands at the back of a permanent yard sale that has been there for years and looks just terrible. It does, however, provide lots of photo ops for challenges like this! :-) ~Sharon

Time to return the compliment regarding the fly image Sharon, but with everything reversed. First I need to mention that I was born in Stockport (but in England) and dilapidated is a fine description of that place! But I'm afraid your image is just way too beautiful to conjure any sense of dilapidation. Would have been a stunner for the last challenge don't you think? Well done on a fantastic start to the challenge. -Najinsky
such an interesting shot, sharon! all the great detail, nice tones and especially a couple of darker boards in the siding give the image dimension. (the windows are works of art on their own!!!) can you tell i love this? ha ha ha shu
