Thank you Michael and Pops! My own verdict: the color grabs your attention, but there is too little for the eyes to explore to keep the viewer looking. No story to be uncovered, no human interest, no atmosphere, no statement (and I could go on and on). Not a lot time nor a lot of effort went into this.

I am not writing this, because I secretly want someone to argue against my analysis, but rather because it could potentially teach someone else what it taught me.

Thank you Shu. I was rinsing lettuce one day, when I noticed how the polished stainless steel of this dome shaped collander reflects its contents when viewed from straight above. Looking for still-life props in the kitchen today - when I found this, I knew I'd have to give it a go...
