I live in Ireland but am from the U.K. I saw one of these outside my back door yesterday and thought it was a cockroach as it was on it's back. I am still in awe today after seeing another. They're enormous! I just had to find out what it was. I daren't open the door now.

Just found one swinging from the end of a web in front of the patio door last evening. Yes its big!
