We had just left Hammerfest on the last northerly leg of the voyage, to Kirkenes, when the boat
turned around and went back into dock. There was a problem with the propeller, it seemed,
and after a diver was found to investigate the problem, the captain decided to abort the trip
and return to Tromsų, from where most of the passengers would be flown home. We were lucky in
being offered a cabin (upgraded to a suite) on the next south-bound boat at Tromsų, thus losing
only a day or so of our holiday (for which we had an extra day in Oslo)
