26 Torch lily

Melbourne, Australia

is also known as Kniphofia uvaria, Tritoma or Red Hot Poker due to the shape and colour of its inflorescence.
Kniphofia uvaria is a genus of plants in the family Asphodelaceae that includes 70 or more species native to Africa.

I bought this torch lily two years ago and it is now flowering for the first time.

Intriguing plant. I've seen these before and always thought they looked not quite real somehow. Beautiful shots!
