Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay covers 1,930 square kilometers (480,000 acres) and the shore stretches roughly 264 km (164 mi).
Port Phillip is habitat to over 1000 species of marine plants.
Near the shore, the rocks are covered in green and red algae that shelter a myriad of smaller creatures,
including tiny brittle stars, bristle worms and crustaceans.
