Joaquin Murrieta Wanted Poster

Hornitos, California

Joaquin Murrieta, the famed Mexican bandit of the 1850s supposedly frequented the fandango halls in Hornitos and was almost captured there. This poster still resides in one of the windows of a building in Hornitos. Much has been written about this bandit, but it is difficult to separate fact from fiction!

I like the contrast between old and new with the reflections, and interesting story. I had never heard of him. V.
