Original fresco of a Minoan Prince or priest - king detached from the Palace at Knossos and housed in the Heraklion Museum in Crete. wearing a crown of lillies and peacock's feathers on his head.
He may have been leading some sacred animal with his left hand. Knossos is associated with rituals involving bulls, and possibly this was part of the fresco in ancient times. The fresco dates from ca 1400 BCE.
It is easy to see the raised parts of the plaster image that give it some dimension.
