Satay Man

Smoke from hand-fanned charcoals impart a wonderful flavour to these satay. Satay is marinated chicken pieces skewered on a stick and is an all-time Malaysian favourite. This young guy is obviously a seasoned satay chef, handling the smoke and his job with such ease and grace!

Yes Tim - that's you and Chor in the background there. I am glad that you had a wonderful time in Malaysia - to really get a feel for its people and culture, away from mainstream tourism. And this satay man was great too wasn't he? He let you taste his satay for free!

"Ease and Grace" that sort of sums up how I felt about our trip to Malaysia and to this little shop in particular. These people were so warm and welcoming. I see myself and Chor Eng in the background on this one.
