Thanks Olaf (for this and your other image comments). I'm glad you noted it - I don't know why this isn't framed and hanging, but I'll take care of that this weekend. Thanks for the nudge/reminder.

This one stands out. I think it is the leading curves, the colors, the contrast and shadows that make it so.

James - thanks very much for your time and comments. Validation of one's efforts is always nice to receive. One of those efforts is in knowing what shots to delete [g]. I don't always know why a particular image feels to work better than another, but the intuitive sense is what guides me for the most part.

I like to look at photos made by folks who post in the Canon forum on DPREVIEW.COM to see if they can back up their knowledge with results - you clearly can. In particular, you have a great sense for composition, and clearly know how to make proper exposures in trying conditions.
