Road Warrior

He came quickly.

Just trotting down the road.
While looking a wolf in the distant valley, I was standing in the road as he approached.
As he walked by me only a few feet away, he stopped and made eye contact. Because I had no time to switch to a shorter lens, I did not get a photograph of him standing so close and trying to understand something about me. However, it is a moment I will not forget.

Actually, it was not a scary situation. There were other people - within 20 yards of me - who were watching the same wolves in the distance. This coyote merely wanted to go past the Wolf Watchers. He came closest to me because I had not yet walked over to the Group. As to why he stopped when he reached me, only he knows. His expression was one of curiosity.

Love the title of this one. Is that a tag in its ear? I think he figured you might be his next meal...then you moved. Voted

WOW! Liz, you do like to play with fire. Scary, but no doubt an unforgettable experience. Nice shot. Probably a good thing you didn't try to put on a short lens.
