I've only given names to a few of the groundhogs that have lived in our yard over the past 25 years. Prior to 2020, only one groundhog at a time occupied the woodpile. Starting about 15 years ago, I started to name our resident groundhog. If Punxsutawney Phil could have a name, why couldn't our resident groundhog??? We started out with Missouri Phil... Each of our resident groundhogs lived in the woodpile between 3 and 6 years before a new one moved in. Since 2020, I have given names to the two females to produce litter (the resident groundhog at the time): plus, to the one VERY troublesome pup in the current litter. My husband named that one. Although I could tell them apart, I never named the other 11 pups in the 2 groundhog litters we've had during the past 3 years.

I'm really impressed and amazed that you have named them all and know how to identify them by their names. Great portrait of Missouri Maude.
