This image was taken in the middle afternoon of an early Winter day, from a classic vantage point in the Wave. Of the attributes of being at the Wave in the short days of the Winter is that the southern 'wall' of the Wave never quite gets direct sunlight - so the more 'classic' images of the Wave completely bathed in even morning light are impossible until the sun angles are somewhat higher (earlier, or later in the year). An advantage of this time of year is that you can get some very interesting shadows (from the Buttes on the south side of the Wave) on the northern wall...the interplay between the fingers of shadow and the rolling wave are fascinating to say the least. This image captures that interplay the best for me.
Only minor contrast/saturation enhancement in Photoshop.
