These are just beautiful photos. My grandfather's name was Durgarian. After coming to the U.S., he changed it to Durgen. My grandmother's name was Iris Alexanian. Would you perhaps know anything about the history of these two names from the "old country." My father was full Armenian; mother was mostly Italian. My grandparents left Armenia to flee the Turks, moved to fresno and then San Francisco. I remember my beloved grandmother telling me of being hidden in a flour barrel to hide from the Turks. I have no hate in me for any peoples of the Earth. There is too much hate in the world. I'm sorry the Armenians have had to suffer so much during their history. I would like so much to hear more about my background. My family is all gone now, but I'll never forget the stories my grandmother told me. She was a fantastic Armenian cook and baker and worked in a famous San Francisco restaurant. I miss her and the warm feeling I got being around her!!!

Sure wish I could hear true Armenian music as I remember it from my past. Also would like to see more pictures of the Armenian people. Their looks vary sooo much. I guess there was a lot of intermixing, so to try and find a typical Armenian man and woman would be difficult.

Have a wonderful holiday, and thank you for these most fantastic photos!!!!!
