Shopska Salad

This is a must and a popular part of Bulgarian people and Balkan culture. It is widely available in all restaurants and definately worth a try. The safe option on the menu, this salad is filled with delicious sheeps cheese, fresh tasty locally grown tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, parsley, spring onion and a vinaigrette dressing to top it all off.

add olive oil and/or vinegar dressing (that's up to you) and mix well. Used as part of almost any main course and/or as 'compulsory' supplement (meze) for the local spirit drink (rakia) - Cheers ;)
