This is interesting, I havn't seen one before.
Jeff Lobaugh06-Jan-2010 02:24
A real 'page turner' eh?
Guest 06-Jan-2010 01:10
Nicely captured... I like how everything feels traditional about this except the book itself and also how you've blurred the words.
Ronald Bijtenhoorn05-Jan-2010 21:17
Like this composition of the e-book
Doug Cruden05-Jan-2010 19:23
Sorry, I have to agree with the others, too! A real book is the only way to go!! I do like the shot though, Bob - your PoV almost makes it look like we're peering over the reader's shoulder :o))
Michael Shpuntov05-Jan-2010 18:43
Mighty kindle :-) The keypad is probably used to re-write the parts of the book that readers don't like. With book it was pretty hard to do he, he :-) Just kidding. Could not resist. Excellent shot Bob.

Aha, modern times. Well done.
Guest 05-Jan-2010 09:56
A good one for this Challenge.
Guest 05-Jan-2010 09:51
never actually seen one of these before. well shot with the writing blurred, makes us wounder what they are reading!
Bernard Davis05-Jan-2010 09:29
The words are important, but the feel of a book still does it for me. I have a Sony eReader, and while its very good, I still read old fashioned books as well.
Nice shot.
Mieke WA Minkjan05-Jan-2010 06:34
looks interesting...but I can't read it..
borisalex05-Jan-2010 06:03
Great idea! Like the way you show it!
Carl and Racine Erland05-Jan-2010 05:43
Nicely done...the b&w makes this look like 'old' technology....intersting!
Hernan E. Enriquez05-Jan-2010 05:37
Nice shot but....most of my reading is online but there is no replacing a book!
Ann...05-Jan-2010 05:08
Lovely composition which shows off this very modern marvel…..not sure if I could do without the page turning and the feel of the paper…….
Nancy Good05-Jan-2010 03:12
I like how you brought us into this scene. I, too, can't imagine reading on one of these, though I guess we've conditioned ourselves to doing just that by all the reading we do here on the Net.
Timothy Guenther05-Jan-2010 03:02
Websites like this one are replacing the old photo books - at least as far as sharing our photos with each other around the world. So, I suppose these electronic thingys are the wave of the future, but I hope I never have an electronic coffee table!

As a Bibliophile and diagnosed Bibliomaniac, this would certainly take some getting used to for me. Nice shot from this angle showing the connection between reader and e-book.
Yvonne05-Jan-2010 01:58
A little lighter to hold than a heavy book no doubt! Love the feeling on intimacy captured.
Fay Stout05-Jan-2010 01:41
Technology is amazing, but I love having a real book in my hands and sitting on the shelf!
Guest 05-Jan-2010 01:40
I actually prefer the "feel" of a real book. However, an e-reader does have a place, and I have really enjoyed mine! Won't give up the real book though. I have a nightstand full of them thanks to Christmas!
LynnH05-Jan-2010 01:17
Very nice shades of light throughout the scene! I like the POV, peeking over the shoulder.
Ray :)05-Jan-2010 00:56
Save our books;-)
carol j. phipps05-Jan-2010 00:55
Excellent monochrome! I, too find that I prefer the paper page. Guess it gets some getting used to.
Jola Dziubinska05-Jan-2010 00:45
Too modern for me, paper book keeps the mood. Excellent photo, though.
Jim Stone05-Jan-2010 00:39
It's more fun to fall asleep over (or under) a good paperback - they don't break when you drop them or run out of batteries while you're sleeping...like the shot alot.

Cool.....but I'll stick to the old paperbacks.....can't afford one of these!
Barbara Heide04-Jan-2010 23:26
high tec... I do prefer real books...
J. Scott Coile04-Jan-2010 23:23
How would Bob Seger have ever sung "turn the page" :-) So techy!
Phillip Normanton04-Jan-2010 23:19
I'm still undecided... and where would I stick my bookmarks?!? :o)
Faye White04-Jan-2010 23:13
I love mine! I need to get the mini light though... :)
Available Light Images04-Jan-2010 22:26
I always considered getting one of those as I travel a lot, but I just love the smell of paper!!! great shot...
Guest 04-Jan-2010 22:05
Nicely done.
Stephanie04-Jan-2010 21:56
This is a wonderful idea for the challenge!
Ed McConnell04-Jan-2010 21:40
hi-tech black and white..good idea and shot Bob..
Nicki Thurgar04-Jan-2010 21:33
Hmmm, I'm interested in one of these but not sure if I could give up the feel of a real book!
