A Small Cemetery

There were some 1,200 land owners when the land was expropriated for the Smoky Mountain National Park and this was at a time when the deceased were buried in family cemeteries. These family plots were protected in the deed transfer and the NPS must maintain a path for the present day descendants to be able to reach their deceased ancestors. These plots are found throughout the park. This one is located in a cluster of fine trees and is one of several found in Cades Cove.
