(From Glasgow's finest The Blue Nile, and their 1984 debut album A Walk Across the Rooftops)
I think this is just one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever had the pleasure to hear - Paul Buchanan's beautiful voice, the tight rhythm section and the sublime keyboards...I get shivers up and down my spine even now, 25 years after I first heard it. If there was ever a 'Desert Island Disc' for music, this would my number one, no argument!
Once again this was a team effort - I was listening to album, at the same time contemplating an excellent day yesterday and anguishing that I couldn't get a tune to match the triangle theme all the while staring forlornly at the tripod when Finn said something along the lines of 'well, when you use a tripod the camera stays still, it doesn't move...'. Bingo! I'd never thought of it like that, but the lad's right! Huzzah! I cried as I grabbed the old bedsheet and arranged my studio, much to the amusement of Naomi.
Excuse the slight bluey tinge to the light here - I don't know what's causing that, nor the slight pixelation either...anybody got any ideas? Of course, if I desaturate the pic, then the blue tinge goes, but not the pixelation....
