Don't know if this works or not, it's a pretty naff photo but what with Chrimble shopping and all those "let's put it off til December" things at work beginning to bite my backside, it's all I could manage over the weekend. This is a quick shot of the very excellent OS 1:25000 scale Explorer map of Orkney, showing the very north-west of West Mainland around the parish of Birsay. It would be very pretentious and poncy of me to say that this is my spiritual home, so I won't, but you get the drift. Shameless plug (it IS Christmas after all) but I have several galleries of Orkney as sub-galleries to my Scotland gallery...please feel free to stop by :o)

I should confess that what made me want to do this pic was seeing those square and rectangular fields all over the place...talk about organised!!
