5th - "Welcome To The Machine"

Cheltenham, Glos

(from the 1975 album Wish You Were Here)

A peek inside my PC, looking through the case to the cooling fan at the back. I think this is suitably machine-like for the song title, although I must admit that WTTM always makes me think of War Of The Worlds...there must be some sort of aural/visual association going on there, but I can't remember why!

Great idea for the lyrics! A powerful image, perfectly captured with a Pink Floyd psychedelic mood.

Very cool and somewhat menacing shot and a great interpretation in photographing the machine that makes all of our photography possible. Great song too! "V"

LOL at Phillip's comment...yet this does resemble an industrial turbine...good illustration of that title and technically very impressive shot...V

Interesting, I find that this song reminds me of that movie too. Do you think there was some advertising or concert promotion that used these two together? This is a very nice photograph, I agree with Stephanie, the light and colors are a bit psychedelic and lend themselves to the Pink Floyd theme. Good work.

This is like the shot in a film where "our hero" stops the blades and rescues the lady! I love the colours between the blades.
