Aubergine is french, different kinds are called courge. Rare to focus on the green part, a bit mysterious.

a fine specimen even if you have been gnawing on it...there's lots left for the stew...V

I know this is called an eggplant in English, but I prefer the original french name we use here: aubergine. Great capture.

I like it!!! I have a few great recipes for eggplant!
Fay Stout04-Sep-2009 01:25
It's OK... some of your American cousins understand "aubergine". Nice shot. I like the shallow DOF here.

Aubergine? Looks like an Eggplant to me, or more correctly Terong in Indonesian, but I think they're actually from India. Anyhoo, this is a great shot with this narrow depth of field and angle. Gives us a new way of looking at Aubergines. ;-)

Ah, I bought one of these for a photo once - had absolutely no idea what to do with it afterwards!! In fact, I'm not even sure I used the pic. Hmmm.
Johnny JAG03-Sep-2009 19:22
Aaargh! That reminds me of "pickled egg plant" that I had in Japan, the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted, though possibly the best colour!
Great shot BTW

Great macro. Superb focusing.
lisamidi03-Sep-2009 19:01
Oups, I bought one today too! I love the colour and the reflection on it. So I'll see what else is in my kitchen... Great macro!
Dave Perez03-Sep-2009 18:48
The Italian staple vegetable. I'll take "a la parmesana"! Nicely captured!
Kevin Chester03-Sep-2009 18:24
A very under rated veggie. Don't forget to label it "Eggplant", Otherwise our american cousins won't know what you mean.
Linda Willets03-Sep-2009 17:53
Nice dof.
