Yet again, I'm undecided about which version of a shot I prefer - is it the pure B&W here, or the pale saturated one below?

Yup, mono wins on this one for me :o) The colour one looks a little, err, soft somehow? Think the saturation in the grass overpowers the gate? In b&w the background fades into an otherworldly wateryness whilst the hard starkness of the gate overpowers it. Or somefink :o)
