The Bighorn Medicine Wheel is one of the most sacred of all Native American sites. It is commonly accepted as the "type site" for North American medicine wheels.
I felt poorly prepared to photograph it since I had not had time to research the site properly. I was an hour later than I had hoped to be, so I trotted up the road as
quickly as my age and the 9600'+ elevation would allow. When I approached the Wheel, the light was fading quickly, so I prostrated myself outside the rope barrier and
said a quick prayer asking for guidance in the shoot. This and the following image are my offerings to the sacred Medicine Wheel. My hope is that they will be found worthy.
Many thanks to my spiritual brother, Dean Silber, for suggesting I detour from my planned itinerary to visit the Medicine Wheel.
