Letter from Queen Wilhelmina to Jacques Bosmans

The Hague 24 December 1946
Palace Noordeinde

On account of rendering assistance to 'onderduikers' (persons who were undermining the enemy and hiding from them),
your son Frederik Karel Johan was arrested by the merciless enemy and transported to a concentration camp. There he endured mental and physical torture.
Ultimately he died at Neuengamme on 11th December 1944.
Herewith I express my heartfelt sympathy with your sad loss.
He has made his sacrifice for thr freedom of our beloved fatherland.
His memory shall also be in My retention with continued gratitude.
(signed)

Wilhelmina

Hi Ben, I just looked at Yad Vashem, at their "Righteous among the Nations" lists from various countries. Did you know you can apply for your brave uncle to be posthumously added to those brave people.
Especially with this highranking letter, he should be immediately accepted as such, despite the omnipresent paperwork delays.
